Healthmark currently provides nurses and carers to over 10 active ageing and community care state run units in both Malta and Gozo. For the past 18 years, Healthmark has been the service provider of nurses and care workers to Mater Dei Hospital, the country’s main hospital. It also provides other services relating to care, support, nursing, home help, child care educators, personal care assistants and clerical services to various government, corporate and private clients. In addition to this, Healthmark provides staff to entities operating within the hospitality and leisure sector.
Healthmark positively contributed towards the tackling of the pandemic through its involvement in the provision of nurses and carers at various key locations, including swabbing, testing and vaccination centres, care homes, hospitals and national entry ports such as the Malta International Airport. The Group was responsible for the administration of COVID-19 vaccines at various community clinics, at Mater Dei Hospital, at the main vaccination hub set up at the University of Malta and also in Gozo. Furthermore, the Group was entrusted with the operation of a COVID-19 vaccination hub at MCAST. Having the largest private workforce of healthcare professionals in the country, Healthmark was able to support the country at a time when such personnel were in great demand and of crucial importance, including thermal screening at all entry points of the Maltese Islands and vetting and screening of all travel documents and travel history to identify travellers who need to go into quarantine.

Our Healthmark training centre in Dubai was set up in March 2023 to support our recruitment efforts for staff for our operations in Malta. For the last 7 years we have been recruiting an average of around 1,000 employees per year from different countries, including Bangladesh, Nepal, Philippines and India. We established this centre so that while prospective employees await their VISA approval to work in Malta, we can provide them with the necessary training needed to perform their jobs effectively once they arrive in Malta, whilst preparing them for a career in Europe.
The training centre has an area of 250 square metres. Facilities at this training centre consist of a training room, a hospital simulation room with medical equipment, offices, meeting rooms, and a recreation area. The academy is certified by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), which is the educational quality assurance and regulatory authority of the Government of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
